The beaches offer variety in natural environment, activities, and the people who enjoy them. So lovely is the Space Coast that even the hurricanes cannot resist paying a visit, from time to time.

The Brevard beaches are vital to the character and economy of the county; they support recreation, businesses, government and military activities, and wildlife habitat.

Unforgettable in every way

One of the more remarkable characteristics about Brevard County is its number of public beach parks, which stretch from Titusville to South Melbourne. The county manages 13 beach parks and 42 beach access sites or "dune crossovers." The other beach parks are managed by cities, government agencies, or associations.

A public beach access site is simply a path to the beach. Beach parks are public areas adjacent to the beach with parking and direct access. They vary in their provision of other amenities such as showers, restrooms, picnic pavilions, playgrounds, and activities.

However, a nominal fee is charged at independently-managed parks such as Canaveral National Seashore in Titusville, Sebastian Inlet State Park, Sydney Fischer Park in Cocoa Beach, and Jetty Park in Cape Canaveral. Visitors feel that this is a reasonable price for close parking, restrooms, and showers, at the least.

Several beach parks have wheelchair access:

  • Sebastian Inlet State Park
  • Cherie Down Park - Cape Canaveral
  • Grant Avenue - Cape Canaveral
  • McKinley Avenue - Cape Canaveral
  • Jetty Park - Cape Canaveral
    (beach wheelchairs available)
  • Lori Wilson Park - Cocoa Beach
  • Canaveral National Seashore / Playalinda - Titusville

For many beachgoers, nearness is the determining factor in selecting a beach. But, others will drive that extra few miles for just the perfect experience. A few of the unique beach areas have been highlighted.

Whether you want to hang a line, hang ten, or just hang out, Brevard County gives you 72 miles of opportunity.
